Representative James O’Day joined his colleagues in the Massachusetts legislature to pass the budget for the 2019 Fiscal Year (FY19) ending the 190th session. The 2019 Fiscal Year budget contains $41.88 billion in expenditures and includes important spending and policy initiatives that were in the House and Senate budgets. The budget features no new taxes or fees and directs a $367 million deposit into the Stabilization Fund to ensure our state’s fiscal health and protect Massachusetts’ future. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts ends the 190th legislative session successfully passing legislation on women’s reproductive rights, clean energy, paid family and medical leave, gun safety, and many more. Representative O’Day played a vital role in securing funding for critical local and statewide programs, as well as passing legislation that supports the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable communities.
